IKEA ADVERTISES ADOPTABLE DOGS IN STORES, BECAUSE EVERY HOME NEEDS A RESCUE PUP

The idea to display the pets inside the store started in Singapore as a collaboration between Ikea and two animal shelters, according to Business Insider. Together they formed the project Home for Hope.

So today I was in New York City walking down 5th Avenue in a group when we came across a man and his pets. His pets were very well-behaved, staying nearby and not biting or anything when people pet them. The man allowed everyone who wanted to to pet his assortment of pets. People could leave tips, but only if they wanted to. A crowd of people gathered to pet the three dogs, four cats, and various guinea pigs (not all are pictured) that he had, and everyone was happy.

I just love this kind of thing, because I feel like sometimes when you’re stressed you just need to pet something cute and cuddly, like a cat that totally wants nothing more than to be friendly with you. And especially in New York, where everything is fast-paced and stressful, people need a place where they can just stop and be friendly with some cute animals. This was the best thing I’ve ever seen in the city.
